2010 Fighter of the Year, Fighter of the Decade, and WBO Welterweight Champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao (51-3-2) delivered an inspiring speech at the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) awards dinner on Friday, June 4, 2010. In his acceptance speech, Pacquiao said; Good evening everyone . . . Poverty confronted my family; poverty challenged my youth . . . I was pressured but was not crushed . . . In my struggles, I combated poverty with boxing gloves . . . I trusted God and dreamed big . . . I learned from my mistakes . . . At the start of the century, I was convinced that I could excel in boxing . . . Tonight, I overflow with joy and gratitude. I am thankful that like [Muhammad] Ali and Joe Frazier and other fighters, I decided to get into boxing . . . I decided to not give up; to never give up. I decided to trust God. God formed my destiny . . . He formed me from nothing into something. He knows everything about me . . . To my countrymen around the world, you are my strength . . . All the sacrifices have been beneficial and rewarding . . . We come from different backgrounds and races, but we are all connected . . . We all desire a sense of meaning, we all desire a sense of purpose. We all desire to be good, and to leave a legacy. I am Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, and I am proud to be a Filipino . . . We are all destined for greatness . . . Greatness lies not in strength, but in the use of that strength . . .

Here's a bit of Birthday History... Birthdays are original, personal, noteworthy traditions. Some people like to forget them. Others prefer smaller celebrations. But for some, the day must be a flag-waving, band-playing joyous merrymaking occasion. We are so used to celebrating our birthday every year that it seems like it's been a tradition almost forever!! But there too is a birthday history, and a place and time it all began... When early people had no way of keeping track and marking time (except by the moon, sun or by some important event) little attention was paid to the anniversary of a person's birth. Everyone realized, of course, that people grew older as time passed; but they didn't mark any special milestone for it. Only when ancient peoples began taking notice of the moon's cycles, did they pay attention to the changing seasons and the pattern that repeated itself over and over and so they began to mark and note time changes. That's the start of birthday history. Eventually, the first calendars were formulated in order to mark time changes and other special days. From this tracking system came the ability to celebrate birthdays and other significant anniversaries the same day each year. It is also said that Birthday celebrations began as a form of protection. It was a common belief that evil spirits were more dangerous to a person when he or she experienced a change in their daily life, such as turning a year older. To protect them from harm, friends and family would gather around the birthday person and bring good cheers, thoughts and wishes. Giving gifts brought even more good cheer to ward off the evil spirits. Noisemakers are thought to be used at parties as a way of scaring away the evil spirits. The birthday history custom of lighting candles originated with people believing that the gods lived in the sky and by lighting candles and torches they were sending a signal or prayer to the gods so they could be answered. When you blow out the candles and make a wish this is another way of sending a signal and a message. Even though historians are certain that people have observed their birthdays for quite some time, there are very few records of such celebrations that still exist. The only ones documented in birthday history are those birthdays of kings, high-ranking nobility, and other important figures. Common people and especially children never celebrated their birth when the idea came about. This trend has been explained by a theory that nobility were the only people wealthy enough to throw such celebrations, and quite possibly were the only ones thought to be important enough to have been written about or remembered. Some historians believe these early birthday bashes resulted in the custom of wearing birthday "crowns" as time went on. The Germans are given credit in birthday history for starting celebrations of children's birthdays. These celebrations were called "kinderfeste". The word "kinderfeste" is derived from two German words 'kinder' meaning children and 'feste' meaning festival or party. More in birthday history: The song "Happy Birthday to You" was composed by two sisters, Mildred and Patty Hill, in 1893, but nobody really paid much attention to it until the original words "Good Morning to You" were changed to "Happy Birthday to You", words that are sung in virtually every home across the world at least once during the year.

Letting Go Of Your Past How to Deal With Your Mistakes and Move On Letting go of your past includes dealing with death, divorce, or loss. Here's suggestions for facing your failures, saying good-bye, and moving on. Letting go of your past – whether it's quitting an addictive relationship or grieving a death – can be one of the hardest things you'll ever do. Even if it was a painful relationship and you had to let go of your past for your own sanity, you still may struggle with saying good-bye. It's not easy, but there are practical ways to let go of your past and move on. Before you delve into letting go and saying good-bye to your past, however, you may need to face your memories and experiences. If you're dealing with your mistakes, you'll certainly have to accept responsibility for your actions. Six Steps to Letting Go of Your Past: - Write, talk, draw, paint, or otherwise tap into your thoughts and memories. Letting go of your past means honoring your memories.
- Let go of the emotions and feelings of painful memories by letting them wash over you – you'll feel horrible during, but relieved and peaceful afterwards. Let go of your past by reliving it.
- Go back and talk to the people involved, if possible. Letting go of your past can mean going back.
- Share your real feelings; confess if it's appropriate. Letting go of your past means expressing your emotions. If you have to deal with your mistakes, then own up to your shame or guilt.
- Apologize and ask forgiveness if you need to. Letting go of your past means being vulnerable.
- Get help with uncontrollable urges to overeat, get stoned or drunk, or otherwise hurt yourself. Letting go of your past means burying your pride.
Letting go of loved ones – whether it's a divorced spouse, dead child, estranged brother, or euthanized pet – is difficult to do. Letting go of your past requires effort and energy, but your own strength and courage will kick in. You'll not only survive, you'll be wiser, more peaceful, and more centered than before if you learn to let go of your past. What is letting go of your past? Letting go of your past means accepting that there's nothing you can do to change the past. You did the best you could. When you're facing your failures, know that you were as good, loving, and effective as you could have been. If you were to go back, you couldn't do anything differently because that's who you were and that's what you knew then. It's done. Let go of your past. Letting go of your past means forgiving yourself for your mistakes. Ruminating on what you could've or should've done is ineffective and unhealthy. If you're dealing with your mistakes or facing your failures, try to forgive yourself.

- Love don't give us the promise of forever, but having faith on it makes us believe that there is.
- Love is not a one-shot deal that you have to get right at first. You will always make mistakes and find your ideal partner. Love is also a process of finding your way, finding the right one.
- The greatest mistake we'll make in a relationship is when we look at somebody else other than our partner to satisfy our emotional and physical needs. The second mistake is when we consciously allow ourselves to be the object of these emotional and physical desires.
- We can never be certain of our relationships because not all of them are built to last our lifetime. We have to constantly nurture it so it can grow and we can grow old with it.
- In the midst of despair, pain, and sorrow, someone comes in our life and gives us strength to believe in life again. The love they give us gives us a blind faith that helps us believe in ourselves again, that we can make our dreams come true.
- Love can be the best thing that will ever happen to you. More often than not, your lover is also your bestfriend, one who will stand by you through thick and thin.
- Most ordinary relationships begin and most of them continue as forms of mutual exploitation, a mental or physical barter, to be terminated when one or both parties run out of goods. The truth is you will not run out of goods if you believe you won't.
- People cannot change who you really are. You just have to tell them and be honest about the real person behind you. You cannot hide in your cloak of deception forever. You deserve to be happy just by being yourself.
- A relationship is a two way street. It's never all your fault or the other person's. You go into the relationship together and work through it all together. And remember, the best relationship is one w/c your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
- When we begin to put so much weight on what others fell and think about our relationships, we become distracted and lose our own perception of our partners.
- If you choose to fight for love, then you should be prepared to face the consequences and risk associated with it. But if you choose to follow tradition over the dictate of your heart then you also have to be prepared to lose someone you love.
- Let us always remember that, in the end it is not how much love we have received that would count, but how much love we have given and how much more we are willing to give even without the promise of earning it back.
- We constantly have to make an extra effort to make others feel that they are important to us and the small things they do are appreciated. The greatness of a relationship is built on the foundation of small acts of kindness, love and compassion.
- Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, they are precisely the ones you need in your life at this moment. There is a purpose and meaning behind all events, and this purpose and meaning develops you as a person and as a lover.

Love Defined by Joe d' Mango This is love… When you think of your past love, you may view it as a failure. But when you find a new love, you view the past as a teacher. In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who won or lost. What is important is you know when to hold on and when to let go. You know you really love someone when you want him to be happy, even if their happiness means that you're not part of it. Everything happens for the best. If the person you love doesn't love you, don't be afraid to love someone else again for you'll never know unless you give it a try. You'll never learn to love a person unless you risk for love. Love strives and hurt you. If you don't get hurt, you don't learn how to love. Love doesn't hurt all the time. Though the hurting is still there to test you, helping you grow. Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's called falling in love, because you don't force yourself to fall --- you just fall. You cannot finish a book without closing its chapters. If you want to go on, then you have to leave the past as you turn the pages. Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won by a single caress. It is a lifetime venture in which we are always learning, discovering and growing. The greatest irony of love is letting go when you need to hold on and holding on when you need to let go. We lose someone we love only when we are destined to find someone else who can love us even more than we can love ourselves. On falling out of love, take some time to heal and then go back to the horse. But don't ever make the mistake of riding the same one that threw you the first time. To love is to risk rejection, to live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk failure, to reach for another is to risk involvement. To expose your feelings is to expose your true self and to love is to risk not to be loved in return. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing! How to define love: fall but do not stumble, be constant but not too persistent, share but never be unfair, understand and try not to demand, hurt but never keep the pain. Love is like a knife. It can stab the heart or it can carve wonderful images into the soul that always last for a lifetime. Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes the things that give you joy also hurt you in the end. Loving people means giving them the freedom to choose who they want to be and where they choose to be. For all the heartaches and tears, for the gloomy days and fruitless years, you should give thanks for knowing that there were things that helped you grow. Loving someone means giving him the freedom to find his way, whether it leads toward you or away from you. Love is a painful risk to take but the risk must be taken no matter what, how scary or painful, for only then you'll experience the fullness of humanity and that is love. Only love can hurt your heart, fill you with desire and tear you apart. Only love can make you cry and only love knows why. If you're not ready to cry, if you're not ready to take the risk, if you're not ready to feel the pain, then you're not ready to fall in love. There was a time in our lives when we become afraid to fall in love, cause every time we do, we get hurt and it takes time to mend the heart. When you decide to love, allow it to grow and when you promised to love, never let it die. You know, I am once confused about love, but then after some time, I realized the real meaning of love and now I can say that it is really a very mysterious thing. You see, if you find yourself in love with someone who does not love you, be gentle to yourself. There is nothing wrong with you; love just didn't choose to rest in the other person's heart. If you find someone else in love with you and you don't love him, feel honored that love came and called at your door, but gently refuse the gift you cannot return. Do not take advantage, do not cause pain. How you deal with love is how you deal with another, and if someone falls in love with you, then love chooses to leave, do not try to reclaim it or assess blame, let it go. There is a reason and there's a meaning. You will know in time. You cannot choose love, but love chooses you. All you can do is accept it for all its mystery when it comes into your life. Feel the way it fills you to overflowing, then reach out and give it away, give it back to the person who brought it alive in you. Give it to the world around you in anyway you can. That is where many lovers go wrong. Being mean so long without love, they understand only love as a need. They see their hearts as empty places that will be filled by love and they begin to look at love as something that flows to them rather than from them. The first blush of new love is filled to overflowing, but as their love cools, they revert to seeing their love as a need. They cease to be someone who generates love and instead become someone who seeks love. They forgot that the secret of love is that it is a gift and that it can be made to grow only by giving it away. Remember this and keep it in you heart: Love has its own time, its own seasons and its own reason for coming and going. You cannot bribe it neither coerce it nor reason it into staying. You can only embrace it when it arrives and give it away when it comes to you. But if it chooses to leave from your heart or from your lover's heart, there is nothing you can do and there is nothing you should do. Love always has been and always will be a mystery. Be glad it came to live for a moment in your life.

Burj Khalifa (Arabic: برج خليفة "Khalifa Tower"), formerly known as Burj Dubai prior to its inauguration, is a skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the tallest man-made structure ever built, at 828 m (2,717 ft). Construction began on 21 September 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009. The building officially opened on 4 January 2010. The building is part of the 2 km2 (490-acre) flagship development called Downtown Burj Khalifa at the "First Interchange" along Sheikh Zayed Road, near Dubai's main business district. The tower's architecture and engineering were performed by Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill of Chicago. Adrian Smith, who started his own firm in 2006, was the chief architect, and Bill Baker was the chief structural engineer for the project. The primary contractor was Samsung C&T of South Korea, who also built the Taipei 101 and Petronas Twin Towers. Major subcontractors included Belgian group Besix and Arabtec from the UAE. Turner Construction Company was chosen as the construction project manager. Under UAE law, the Contractor and the Engineer of Record, Hyder Consulting, is jointly and severally liable for the performance of Burj Khalifa. The total cost for the Burj Khalifa project was about US$1.5 billion; and for the entire new "Downtown Dubai", US$20 billion.Mohamed Ali Alabbar, the Chairman of Emaar Properties, speaking at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat 8th World Congress, said in March 2009 that the price of office space at Burj Khalifa had reached US$4,000 per sq ft (over US$43,000 per m2) and that the Armani Residences, also in Burj Khalifa, were selling for US$3,500 per sq ft (over US$37,500 per m2). The project's completion coincided with a worldwide economic slump and overbuilding, and it has been described as "the latest ... in [a] string of monuments to architectural vacancy." With Dubai itself mired in a deep financial crisis that forced it to seek repeated billion-dollar bailouts from its oil-rich neighbor Abu Dhabi, the opening ceremony and surprise renaming of the tower to Burj Khalifa, after UAE President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has been viewed by observers as an "attempt to boost confidence in Dubai by showing who is backing Dubai".

Dear Joe, Tobs and I were introduced by a close friend. He had a girlfriend for six years and I had a boyfriend for four years. He is so handsome, outgoing, younger than I, with a very stable job and a graduate of a reputable school. We were very much attracted to each other the first time we met. I had never been unfaithful to John. Not until Tobs kept calling me everyday. I fell desperately in love with him but was afraid that he loved Joan more. I could also feel that he really loved me but was just afraid to show. We dated for months until the time that he was assigned by his company for two years abroad. before he left, I ended my relationship with John. I wanted to surprise him but it was he who surprised me over the phone. He told me not to wait for him because he and Joan have plans when he comes back. He said he will never forget me as long as he lives. I was shocked. I was crying in front of my officemates while we are talking on the phone. He told me we could still be friends and he'd write or see me when he comes back. But I said I couldn't see him anymore. Months passed. Some nicer guys have been trying to court me But I still very much in love with him. Lately, he's been calling me up but I never talk to him and I don't want to listen to whatever it is that he wants to say because he has no right to know more of me. He sent me a card once but I did not answer back. Hurt as I am, I think of getting even but find no chance. Though I love him so much, I can never forgive him. Dianne Dear Dianne, More than anything else, I felt that what attracted you most to Tobs were his physical attributes. His looks and commanding presence must have tipped you off your feet. Since the time you met him, you have entertained the thought of getting close to him because you really like him. You got intimate with not much effort because you both liked the idea of taking chances with "stolen moments" even if were aware that you were both committed to someone else. You must have loved John but never love him enough. I guess you have crossed the line too fast and have allowed yourself to be hooked to this insensible attraction towards Tobs. You gave him a chance to go beyond his limit and take control of your emotions without even knowing what really feels for you and where you really stand . Dianne in most of our efforts to have more, we usually end up with none. You have crossed the bridge of no return when you broke up with John You thought you were doing yourself a favor but you never realized that there is really no one to go home to. Tobs loved his girlfriend more than he loved you, if he ever did. There is a price we pay for everything that we do. There is a reason for everything that happens to us. Sometimes we wallow in self-pity and live ahead with anger and the thought of revenge. There will never be peace in our hearts for as long as we let the past take control of the present. The pain that love brings can sometimes make our world come to a chilling stop and only acceptance and forgiveness can break bitterness and sorrowful regret. May this letter make us realize that we may never be able to do anything to change what love has brought us now but when we learn from it and do good with what it has left us then we can always look forward to blessings of brighter and better things to come.

AN ANGEL AT MY SIDE. Dear Joe, Call me Ricky, I come from a very comfortable home. My father is a cardiologist and my mom a jeweler and they never failed to give me the material things I wanted. However , they failed to give me the love and caring I longed for. I became attracted to Angel during enrolment time. She was sweet, conservative, and simply beautiful. I persisted in courting her though I knew I wasn't ready for any long-term relationship. Things took a big turn when she unexpectedly answered me. I was both surprised and excited. Since then, our relationship has undergone a lot of trials. She introduced me to her parents, who were very nice. But my parents didn't like her for me. Joe, Angel studied under a scholarship grant. Her mom is a vendor in a wet market and her father is a family driver. My dad even offered to buy me a brand-new car if I would just let go of Angel and look for someone more deserving. Angel's parents treated me like their own son. She would accompany me to the doctor when I was sick, I couldn't ask for more , Joe, She was an ideal girlfriend. One day, I had a severe headache and my friends brought me to the hospital. After several tests, I was diagnosed as having brain cancer. My father suggested I undergo further treatment and tests in the States. So I lied and told Angel my family was planning on sending me there for further studies. I didn't want to hurt her. She said she'll be waiting for me and I began to cry like a baby. I spent sleepness nights in America thinking of her. I kept on staring at her pictures and the things she gave me. It was Angel I saw everywhere I looked. Her parents were mad because they thought I dumped their daughter and ran away. I learned Angel entered the convent and decided to live her life serving the Lord. I was so scared I wouldn't get well and it would be better to risk things and find her, than die without even asking for forgiveness. I returned to the Philippines and looked for her. After three long years , I finally saw her again. She looked like Mama Mary. I asked her to marry me and sought permission from the nuns and our families. They understood us and even my family learned to love her because they knew it would make me happy. (Joe, I lied again, I told her I had finished Business Management in San Francisco. She never had any idea that I was terribly sick.) Three days before the wedding, Angel had a terrible dream. She said she was being chased by someone and kept running in circles. She was calling me when she got stuck in a room where she saw me in deep slumber. She cried and then woke up. She knew that i was sick and I had no choice but to admit it. On our wedding day, she told me how much she loved me. She said God would see us through and even if He took me away from her, she would still find me in the next life. I was the happiest man in the world when the priest proclaimed us husband and wife. I knew I could die any moment and still be happy. Angel has brought me closer to the Lord, Joe. We both belong to a Catholic community now, But I'm worried. Angel is five months pregnant and is going too give birth to a baby boy. The doctor only gave me three months to live. What happens now? Will I ever get to see my son? What will happen to them? I'm asking God for a second chance, a second life? A chance to live and see my family? Why does this have to happen, Joe? My wife will be happy when she hears this. Thank you very much for taking time to read this. Please pray for us. Yours in Christ, Ricky Dear Ricky, One of our greatest fears is the fear of death. If all of us knew when we would die then we'd probably spend the rest of our lives trembling and dreafully waiting for that moment to come. But we will all come to rest, each in our own and right time. This is all part of God's divine purpose.. But human as we are, we get scared and sorry for ourselves when we know we are being called to finally bid life in this world goodbye. Death is not the end of life but just the beginning of a new one. Life in this world is not a matter of choice but a matter of faith. Those whose faith are weak die without hope but those who believe die with a promise of better things to come. Faith means believing in miracles. It means knowing and trusting that God is in control. Ricky, life's second chance is in God's hands. We may never be able to understand his wisdom in this lifetime but he will definitely enlighten us in the next . If it is His will that you get your second chance then be thankful and live life to the fullest. If not, then just let your faith work in you for He may not have given you the chance to be with your wife and see your son but He will surely bring them close to you, in your heart forever. Joe

JOE D' MANGOS LOVENOTES Dear Patrick, I was then an only child who had everything I could ever want. But even a pretty, spoiled and rich kid could get lonely once in a while so when Mom told me that she was pregnant, I was ecstatic. I imagined how wonderful you would be and how we'd always be together and how much you would look like me. So, when you were born, I looked at your tiny hands and feet and marveled at how beautiful you were. We took you home and I showed you proudly to my friends. They would touch you and sometimes pinch you, but you never reacted. When you were five months old, some things began to bother Mom. You seemed so unmoving and numb, and your cry sounded odd -- almost like a kitten's. So we brought you to many doctors. The thirteenth doctor who looked at you quietly said you have the "cry du chat" (pronounced kree-do-sha) syndrome, 'cry of the cat' in French. When I asked what that meant, he looked at me with pity and softly said, "Your brother will never walk nor talk." The doctor told us that it is a condition that afflicts one in 50,000 babies, rendering victims severely retarded. Mom was shocked and I was furious. I thought it was unfair. When we went home, Mom took you in her arms and cried. I looked at you and realized that word will get around that you're not normal. So to hold on to my popularity, I did the unthinkable ... I disowned you. Mom and Dad didn't know but I steeled myself not to love you as you grew. Mom and Dad showered you with love and attention and that made me bitter. And as the years passed, that bitterness turned to anger, and then hate. Mom never gave up on you. She knew she had to do it for your sake. Every time she put your toys down, you'd roll instead of crawl. I watched her heart break every time she took away your toys and strapped your tummy with foam so you couldn't roll. You'd struggle and you'd cry in that pitiful way, the cry of the kitten. But she still didn't give up. And then one day, you defied what all your doctors said -- you crawled. When Mom saw this, she knew that you would eventually walk. So when you were still crawling at age four , she'd put you on the grass with only your diapers on knowing that you hate the feel of the grass your skin. Then she'd leave you there. I would sometimes watch from the window and smile at your discomfort. You would crawl to the sidewalk and Mom would put you back. Again and again, Mom repeated this on the lawn. Until one day, Mom saw you pull yourself up and toddle off the grass as fast as your little legs could carry you. Laughing and crying, she shouted for Dad and I to come. Dad hugged you crying openly. I watched from my bedroom window this heartbreaking scene. Over the years, Mom taught you to speak, read and write. From then on, I would sometimes see you walk outside, smell the flowers, marvel at the birds, or just smile at no one. I began to see the beauty of the world around me, the simplicity of life and the wonders of this world, through your eyes. It was then that I realized that you were my brother and no matter how much I tried to hate you, I couldn't, because I had grown to love you. During the next few days, we again became acquainted with each other. I would buy you toys and give you all the love that a sister could ever give to her brother. And you would reward me by smiling and hugging me. But I guess, you were never really meant for us. On your tenth birthday, you felt severe headaches. The doctor's diagnosis -- leukemia. Mom gasped and Dad held her, while I fought hard to keep my tears from falling. At that moment, I loved you all the more. I couldn't even bear to leave your side. Then the doctors told us that your only hope was to have a bonemarrow transplant. You became the subject of a nationwide donor search. When at last we found the right match, you were too sick, and the doctor reluctantly ruled out the operations. Since then, you underwent chemotherapy and radiation. Even at the end, you continued to pursue life. Just a month before you died, you made me draw up a list of things you wanted to do when you got out of the hospital. Two days after the list was completed, you asked the doctors to send you home. There, we ate ice cream and cake, run across the grass, flew kites, went fishing, took pictures of one another and let the balloons fly. I remember the last conversation that we had. You said that if you die, and if I need of help, I could send you a note to heaven by tying it on the string any a balloon and letting it fly. When you said this, I started crying. Then you hugged me. Then again, for the last time, you got sick. That last night, you asked for water, a back rub, a cuddle. Finally, you went into seizure with tears streaming down your face. Later, at the hospital, you struggled to talk but the words wouldn't come. I know what you wanted to say. "I hear you," I whispered. And for the last time, I said, "I'll always love you and I will never forget you. Don't be afraid. You'll soon be with God in heaven." Then, with my tears flowing freely, I watched the bravest boy I had ever known finally stop breathing. Dad, Mom and I cried until I felt as if there were no more tears left. Patrick was finally gone, leaving us behind. From then on, you were my source of inspiration. You showed me how to love life and live life to the fullest. With your simplicity and honesty, you showed me a world full of love and caring. And you made me realize that the most important thing in this life is to continue loving without asking why or how and without setting any limit. Thank you, my little brother, for all these. Your sister, Sarah ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Sarah, There are times when we get discouraged by things that happen and by people around us. Times when we want to give up on someone because we don't love him anymore. Times when we hate ourselves for hating others. Times when we stop loving because people fall short of our expectations. To love without asking why or how, without setting any limit... is this how we love? Or is our love defined by how much we gain or how much someone makes us happy? We should love a person not because of anything else but simply because we love him, nothing more, nothing less. Our love becomes conditional when we begin to put a price tag on someone. When that person falls below certain limits then he wouldn't get as much attention and love that he would have been given he'd been more qualified. We are disillusioned if we think we're beautiful and only deserve someone just like us because true love can see beyond what the eyes can't. Love doesn't measure, weigh or gauge a person. Love just loves. It is the very basic yet so difficult formula in the success of any relationship. To love unconditionally is to love beyond the bounds of what limits us, race and creed, wealth and poverty, sickness and health and suffering and happiness. Love knows no bounds and only when we learn how to conquer the limits of what keeps us away from others can love take on a new meaning. One that doesn't ask why or how. One that simply believes. One that simply loves. Joe

If Only Tears Could Bring You Back Midnight Sons How will I start Tomorrow without you here Who's heart will guide me When all the answers disappear Is it too late Are you too far gone to stay This one's forever Should never have to go away What will I do You know I'm only half without you How will I make it through If only tears could bring you back to me If only love could find a way What I would do, what I would give If you returned to me someday Somehow, someway If my tears could bring you back to me I'd cry you an ocean If you'd sail on home again Wings of emotion Will carry you, I know they can Just light will guide you And your heart will chart the course Soon you'll be drifting Into the arms of your true north Look in my eyes And you will see a million tears have gone by And still they're not dry If only tears could bring you back to me If only love could find a way What I would do, what I would give If you returned to me someday Somehow, someway If my tears could bring you back to me I hold you close And shout the words I only whispered before For one more chance, for one last dance There's nothing that I would not give and more If only tears could bring you back to me If only love could find a way What I would do, what I would give If you returned to me someday Somehow, someway If my tears could bring you back to me

Closed off from love I didn’t need the pain Once or twice was enough And it was all in vain Time starts to pass Before you know it you’re frozen
But something happened For the very first time with you My heart melted to the ground Found something true And everyone’s looking round Thinking I’m going crazy
But I don’t care what they say I’m in love with you They try to pull me away But they don’t know the truth My heart’s crippled by the vein That I keep on closing You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding ...Keep, keep bleeding love I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love Keep bleeding ...Keep, keep bleeding love You cut me open
Trying hard not to hear But they talk so loud Their piercing sounds fill my ears Try to fill me with doubt Yet I know that the goal Is to keep me from falling
But nothing’s greater Than the rush that comes with your embrace And in this world of loneliness I see your face Yet everyone around me Thinks that I’m going crazy, maybe, maybe
But I don’t care what they say I’m in love with you They try to pull me away But they don’t know the truth My heart’s crippled by the vein That I keep on closing You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding ...Keep, keep bleeding love I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love Keep bleeding ...Keep, keep (keep) bleeding love (love) You cut me open
And it’s draining all of me Oh they find it hard to believe I’ll be wearing these scars For everyone to see
I don’t care what they say I’m in love with you They try to pull me away But they don’t know the truth My heart’s crippled by the vein That I keep on closing (ooh) You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding (ah ah) Keep, keep bleeding love I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love (ooh ooh) Keep bleeding (oh ooh ooh) Keep, keep bleeding love (love) (Oh) you cut me open and I
Keep bleeding (ah ah) Keep, keep bleeding love (yeah ah yeah) I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love (oh, I keep bleeding love) Keep bleeding (I keep) Keep, keep bleeding love (oh) You cut me open and I
Keep bleeding Keep, keep bleeding love

Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen." An Evening Prayer Lord: As I go to sleep tonight, I pray you'll stay 'till morning light Standing right beside my bed, Laying sweet dreams inside my head. If I wake before the day, and all my dreams were dark and gray; Never leave me, hold me tight, let me know that I'm alright. Until safe, I feel again, and am soundly sleeping. Lord: Amen. Father, now the night has come, all my work and play are done. This has been a happy day, now I come to you and pray. Bless us all everywhere, keep us in your loving care, while we sleep and while we wake, bless us all for Jesus' sake.

If I Were You I look in the mirror, with you in my arms And I see a reflection Of a smile that says you believe in love And just for a moment, I drifted away But I couldn't stay cuz A hint of love, a bit of fear I'm tryin' to say If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are I wouldn't come near this broken heart Just turn around and leave here And find someone who won't hurt you Make sure that she still believes in love Cuz I think my heart has given up If I were you, I wouldn't be here Ooh yeah I'm tryin' to protect you From the lies that your heart tells Even though it says that you love me All I see is pain and misery Seasons may change But I can't forget the days of old My heart ached when you walked away I said I'd never love again If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are I wouldn't come near this broken heart Just turn around and leave here And find someone who won't hurt you Make sure that she still believes in love Cuz I think my heart has given up If I were you, I wouldn't be here The days go by And I feel that you could make me happy Time goes on And I feel that love is at my door And though I tell myself that you're the one Who said those words before Thought it hurts too much I can't trust in love Again...Again If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are I wouldn't come near this broken heart Just turn around and leave here And find someone who won't hurt you Make sure that she still believes in love Cuz my heart has given up If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are I wouldn't come near this broken heart Just turn around and leave here And find someone who won't hurt you Make sure that she still believes in love If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are I wouldn't come near this broken heart Just turn around and leave here And find someone who won't hurt you Make sure that she still believes in love My heart has given up Can't be here If I were you, I wouldn't be here If I were you I would stay right where you are Cuz my heart has given up If I were you, I wouldn't be here Ooh I wouldn't, if I were you I wouldn't be here Oh oh oh

Dubai, U.A.E. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) consists of seven Emirates’ and Dubai is the most popular destination of them all. It is situated on the southern shore of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. Dubai is the second largest Emirate after Abu Dhabi and is usually recognised as the ‘Pearl of the Persian Gulf’. Dubai’s population is estimated at 1.5 million, a huge difference from 183,200 in 1975. Dubai is one of the most multicultural cities in the world with the expatriate community covering most of the population, with less than 10% of the total being national Emiratis. The state of Dubai is commonly referred to as a city because it has been distinguished as the most modern and cosmopolitan environments in the Emirates, especially due to its rapid technological transformation over the past few decades. Dubai is a landmark for innovation; some might even compare it to the computer game Sim-city where expansion has no limit. The city boasts remarkable skyscrapers, such as the world’s current tallest building, the Burj Dubai, and is also in the process of developing one of the most technologically advanced buildings in the world – The Pad. This is based on the idea of an iPod; this residential tower is set to be embedded with the latest gadgets that will have the power to change interior design and window views to almost anything imaginable. Sheikh Mohammed is the ruler of Dubai. It is said that he is primarily responsible for making Dubai what it is today; a modern high flying city thriving from commercial investments. Sheikh Mohammed’s most significant business proposal was the introduction of Dubai’s world class airline, the Emirates. The city of Dubai gains higher returns from its tourism unlike many of the other Emirates, as revenue from oil only accounts for around 6% of Dubai’s gross domestic product. The city’s oil is decreasing by the year and therefore cannot be depended upon. That is partly the reason why there has been a construction boom in order to diversify its economy in the expansion of commercial and corporate activity. Dubai has therefore become a world famous city through innovative real estate projects, sports events, conferences and Guinness records. Although Dubai has been transformed into a man-made hi-tech city, it still has a strong Islamic culture with a stretch of historical buildings by the Creek. Whilst some may view this as a conflict of old meeting new, it is also considered to be a captivating city that offers both extremes; a traditional past interlinked with modern day. Size 2,400 sq m (estimate) Currency Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED or Dh) Local time Dubai Time is + 4 Hours GMT Language The official language is Arabic, Arabic and English are commonly used in business and commerce. Hindi and Urdu are also widely used. Population 1.5 million (2008) Flying Time UK to Dubai - 7 hours

A Glimpse of Baguio Situated amidst the mountainous region of Cordillera, 1,500 meters above the sea, 250 kilometers north of Manila, Baguio City is one of the few place in the Philippines blessed with a cool climate. On average, Baguio is at least eight degrees cooler than any place in the lowlands. Not surprisingly, Baguio has become the "summer capital" of the country. It is gifted with a variety of cultural, historical and scenic attractions which make it an important and interesting destiantion. As early as March, tourists and locals take the six-hour trek up the zigzagging Kennon Road. Within a mile of the city, the sweet scent of pine trees and flowers already permeate the air. Artists are particularly drawn to this serene city. The annual Baguio Arts Festival attracts aspiring painters and sculptors from all over country. Writers convene in Baguio to meet and recharfe. However, Baguio wasn't always a place of peace and leisure. In the early 19th century, the Spaniards stumbled upon this ore-rich valley - and fought feverishly with the local tribes to gain control of the land's bounties. While the Spaniards succeeded in founding some form of governance in the area, the mountain tribes proved too diffcult to rule. Thus, the Spaniards parceled out the province to the landed gentry. It was the Americans, perhaps longing for colder climates who saw the vast recreational potential of Baguio. After building Camp John Hay, the Americans proceeded to carve Kennon Road from out of the mountain - and limked Baguio to Manila - and eventually to visitors of all creeds and races. If you only have a day to spend in Baguio, start your tour with a walk down Session Road. The city's commercial artery, Session Road is where you get your first bite of the charm and serendipity of Baguio. Apart from a smattering of one-of-a-kind curio shops and fashion boutiques, Session also features an intersting array of culinary delights. Restaurants specializing in Chinese, Italian American, Japanese and Mongolian can be readily found along Session. From Session, take a cab to any of Baguio's prime attractions. Go horseback riding at Wright Park. Climb up the 252 steps to the Lourdes Grotto. Play a round of golf at John Hay. Cook a tasty chopsuey with the freshest of veggies from the Baguio City Market. Visit the Mansion. Stock up on strawberries. Or tuck under a warm blanket with the crackling of burning wood lulling you to sleep. For nighttowls, Baguio is alive with pulsating music and warm spirits. There are a number of bars and discos that swing until the wee hours of the morning. Snapshots Baguio has a number of attractions to please the most discriminating of sightseers. More importamtly, most of these tourist sports are easily accessible via taxi or jeepney from Session Road. Burnham Park - Situated at the heart of the city, Burnham is the traditional venue of the city's numerous festivities. The park is named after the city's master planner Daniel Burnham. Its man-made lagoon is the site of many boating excursions, Bikers, hikers and skaters delight in the park's criss-crossing walkways. And of the romantic, a walk in the rose gardens is an absolute must. Mines View Park - Over the years, the Park has been transformed into a shopping showcase of sorts. It's here where you can load up on the province's bounties: hand woven jacket and blankets, silver knickknacks and jewelries, and various jams and preserve. Of course, none of these goodies could complete with the Park's breathtaking view of the hills and valleys of the Cordillera and the gold mines of Benguet. Club John Hay - A tour of Baguio is incomplete without a bite of the Club's jumbo-sized burgers and sundaes. Formerly the R & R center of the United States Armed Force personnel in the Phillippines, the Club features hotel type rooms, seven food outlets, an 18-hole golf course, six tennis courts, a six-lane bowling center, basketball and volleyball courts, a heated swimming pool plus more for a definitively sporty weekend. Baguio Cathedral - Rising above the city skyline are the pinkish hues of the Baguio Cathedral. The cathedral is but one of a number of religious landmarks which dot the city. There is the Bell Temple, north of the city; the Maryhurst Seminary with its brilliant gardens; and Lourdes Grotto with its 252 steps to heaven. Banaue - Although Banaue is nine hours away from Baguio by bus, the tourist who takes the time to see this marvel of culture and architecture would be greatly rewarded. Known far and wide as the eighth wonder of the world, the Banaue Rice Terraces were carved from the mountain ranges centuries ago by the Ifugaos, one of the oldest known mountain tribes of the province. Sagada - One of the ten towns comprising Mountain Province is Sagada which is known for its numerous subterranean caves of their ancestors, the Sagadg area is a must-see for the archaeology buffs. Added attractions include the natural clear waters of Bokong Waterfall for a quick morning dip and the studio of renowned lensman Eduardo Masferres, whose collection of photographs of the Cordilleras is a photographer's envy. Souvenirs The shopping opotions in Baguio are endless. You only need to know where to look. Silver - Ifugao blacksmiths and Baguio craftsmen are renowned for their interesting collection of silver jewelry. The St. Louis University Silver Shop, just a few paces away from Baguio Cathedral, allows visitors to watch young silver craftsmen at work. Visitors can also purchase the pieces they want. Wright Park also festures row upon row of stalls selling silver accessories. For best buys, Ibay's Silver Shop and Phil. Treasure are recommended. Hand-Woven Fabrics - The tribesman of Bontoc, Igorot, Ifugao and Kalinga weave beautiful cotton fabrics with elegant ethnic motifs called lepanto. You can find such fabrics at the City Market. If you'd like to see the actual weaving process, visit the Easter Weaving School down Easter Road where threads are magically transformed into bags, blankets and blouses. Sweets and Preserves - If it's strawberry jam you want, proceed to the Good Shepherd Convent. The nuns of Good Shepherd raise funds for their various charities (including unwed mothers and their babies) by cooking up some of the most delicious tasting fruit preserves this side of earth. Try the nun's strawberry and ube jams, cashew and peanut brittle, and coco jam. During peak seasons, visit the convent in the morning as there's bound to be a long line for the jams. Flowers and Vegetables - The Baguio City Market is a sanctuary for the most colorful of floral blooms. It's also where you can find the freshest produce straight from the farms of La Trinidad and Benguet - from sweet strawberries and giant red tomatoes to bright green lettuce and lively mushrooms. Baguio City Market also features handicrafts of all kinds from baskets to backpacks. Travel Smarts Getting There. From Manila, visitors can take a 45-minute flight via Philippine Airline landing in Baguio Airport. Or take the six-hour bus ride through Kennon Road, Marcos Highway or Naguilian Road. From the airport or bus terminal, it's easy to flag down a cab to get to your accommodations. Further down, Ambuklao Road leads to Banaue, and Halsema Highway to the rest of the Cordillera. Staying In. As for accommodations, there are at least a thousand and one choices: from luxury city hotels, homey apartelles and pension house to quaint little country inns. First-time visitors are advised to make reservations before going up. During the summer, the number of tourists can go as high as 200,000. The peso is the medium of exchange - although the dollar is also widely accepted. Major credit cards are recognized in most establishments. And if you're a little short of cash, there's always the friendly ATM machine, which is already a fixture at Session. Getting Around. Jeepneys and tricycles negotiate the city's winding road network with ease. Taxicabs also abound. But if you really want to see and smell Baguio, take long leisurely walks. It's far headltheir.

Somewhere Down The Road We had the right love At the wrong time Guess I always knew inside I wouldn't have you for a long time Those dreams of yours Are shining on distant shores And if they're calling you away I have no right to make you stay, But Somewhere down the road Our roads are gonna cross again It doesn't really matter when But somewhere down the road I know that heart of yours will come to see That you belong with me Sometimes goodbyes are not forever It doesn't matter if you're gone I still believe in us together I understand more than you think I can You have to go out on your own So you can find your way back home * And Somewhere down the road Letting go is just another way to say I'll always love you so We had the right love At the wrong time Maybe we've only just begun Maybe the best is yet to come Cause Somewhere down the road

Careless Whisper I feel so unsure, As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor. As the music dies... Something in your eyes, Calls to mind a silver screen, And all its sad goodbyes. CHORUS I'm never gonna dance again, Guilty feet have got no rhythm. Though it's easy to pretend, I know you're not a fool. I should have known better than to cheat a friend, And waste a chance that I'd been given. So I'm never gonna dance again, The way I danced with you. Time can never mend, The careless whisper of a good friend. To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind There's no comfort in the truth, Pain is all you'll find. REPEAT CHORUS What am I without your love? Tonite the music seems so loud, I wish that we could lose this crowd. Maybe it's better this way, We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say. We could have been so good together, We could have lived this dance forever... But now, who's gonna dance with me? Please stay. (Alternatively): And now it's never gonna be That way... REPEAT CHORUS Now that you're gone... Now that you're gone... Now that you're gone... Was what I did so wrong? So wrong that you had to leave me alone?

FALL FOR YOU Secondhand Serenade Twist In My Story The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting Could it be that we have been this way before I know you don't think that I am trying I know you're wearing thin down to the core But hold your breathe Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you Over again Don't make me change my mind Or I wont live to see another day I swear it's true Because a girl like you is impossible to find Your impossible to find This is not what I intended I always swore to you i'd never fall apart You always thought that I was stronger I may of failed But I have loved you from the start Ohhhh But hold your breathe Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you Over again Don't make me change my mind Or I wont live to see another day I swear it's true Because a girl like you is impossible to find It's impossible So breathe in so deep Breathe me in I'm yours to keep And hold onto your words Cuz talk is cheap And remember me tonight When your asleep Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you Over again Don't make me change my mind Or I wont live to see another day I swear it's true Because a girl like you is impossible to find Tonight will be the night that I will fall for you Over again Don't make me change my mind Or I wont live to see another day I swear it's true Because a girl like you is impossible to find Your impossible to find

GOODBYE Debbie Gibson - Body Mind Soul Darlin', i was hoping that we could pretend And make believe that we could still live happily And start again Seems like you and i, we've caught up in your world of lies I kept believing you could start anew And be a friend Well i've got something i wanted to tell you And it's the last thing i wanted to say But i think i must go there anyway... Chorus: Goodbye How do you say goodbye? Do i just look you in the eye, Shake your hand, wish you well After all this time... I never wanted for goodbye Don't let go I was devoted to your heart and soul And then we took a turn And i had to learn What i tried not to know Seems like yesterday I'd give the world just to hear you say A simple whisper of a word or two Like "i love you" Breaks my heart to see it end this way Chorus Bridge: Goodbye Can it ever be the same? Goodbye Did we lose more than we gained? There's nowhere to hide Baby i feel it inside As my heart cries out your name Goodbye...

I Love You Goodbye Wish i could be the one The one who could give you love The kind of love you really need Wish i could say to you That i'll always stay with you But baby that's not me You need someone Willing to give their heart and soul to you Promise you forever, baby that's something i can't do Oh i could say that i'll be all you need But that would be a lie I know i'd only hurt you I know i'd only make you cry I'm not the one you're needing I love you, goodbye... I hope someday you can find some way to understand I'm only doing this for you I don't really wanna go But deep in my heart i know this is the kindest thing to do You'll find someone who'll be the one that i could never be Who'll give you something better Than the love you'll find with me Oh i could say that i'll be all you need But that would be a crime I know i'd only hurt you I know i'd only make you cry I'm not the one you're needing I love you, goodbye Leaving someone when you love someone Is the hardest thing to do When you love someone as much as i love you Oh i don't wanna leave you Baby it tears me up inside But i'll never be the one you're needing I love you, goodbye... Baby, its never gonna work out I love you, goodbye...

I need to know if you’re my true friend, will you be by my side until the end? Can I tell you my secrets deep, and trust them in your heart you’ll keep? We are neither of us without our flaws, can you accept mine as I will yours? I’ll be a shoulder to cry on when you’re blue, will you be there for me when I need you? No matter how busy I will make time for you, if you are busy will you make time for me too? I will take your hand and comfort your tears, will you hold me and soothe my fears? I will give you joy and many warm smiles, can we share that even across many miles? I will not forget what’s important to you, will you remember what’s important to me too? With you my most favourite things I’ll share, If only I know do you truly care? If you can accept me as I do you, then I will know you are a friend most true.
